Pre-booking & Initial Planning
How does moving internationally with TAXIBOX work?
Moving internationally with TAXIBOX is easy. We’ll deliver your TAXIBOX to your door, you can pack it at your own pace—or let us lend a hand with our trusted removalists. Once you’re ready, we’ll collect it and ship it to your new address across the globe. With your inventory list and any required entry forms in hand, our team will take care of all the documentation to ensure everything moves smoothly.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier, the better. 2-4 weeks ahead gives you time to pack, prep, and lock in your spot – especially during busy periods.
Where can you deliver to in Australia?
We deliver to all the big hitters – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast. Regional? Let’s chat. We might be able to help.
Can I use TAXIBOX to move my vehicle too?
Nope – TAXIBOX is great for your stuff, but not for wheels. For cars or bikes, you’ll need a specialist transport service.
Who handles all the customs stuff?
We handle it, just fill in the necessary forms and we’ll do the rest.
Packing & Pickup in New Zealand
Can I choose when my TAXIBOX is delivered?
Yes. You pick a delivery day and time window that works for you. We’re all about flexibility.
How long do I have to pack/unpack my TAXIBOX?
You’ve got time — pack (or unpack) at your own pace, within reason.
We offer two delivery options.
- Standard trailer drop-off – we deliver your TAXIBOX on a trailer and leave it with you to load or unload yourself.
- WOS (Wait on-site) model – we bring your TAXIBOX with two removalists who help with the heavy lifting on the spot.
Whichever option you choose, you’re in control of the timing. Just give us a heads up when you’re done.
Do I need to be there when it’s delivered or collected?
Nope. As long as we’ve got access, you don’t need to be onsite.
What if I need help packing?
We’re a DIY service, but we’ve got trusted removalist mates if you need a hand.
Can I access my TAXIBOX once it’s packed?
Not after we collect it. Once it’s sealed, it stays that way until it lands on Aussie soil or goes into storage.
Is anything off-limits to pack?
Yes – things like flammables, food, plants, untreated wood, firearms, and or anything hazardous. Need the full no-go list? We’ve got it.
Can I see where my TAXIBOX is at?
You’ll get updates via SMS and email as your move progresses. We keep you in the loop every step of the way.
Do I keep the TAXIBOX padlock?
If you bought it – it’s all yours.
What Happens After Pickup
Where does my TAXIBOX go after collection?
It’s taken to our local depot for preparation, including documentation and export arrangements, before being loaded for international shipping.
What paperwork do I need?
A full inventory of what is going to be packed inside your TAXIBOX, your ID, and proof you’re heading to (or already in) Australia. We’ll walk you through it.
Will my TAXIBOX be opened or inspected before it ships?
Only if customs says so. Otherwise, it says sealed tight.
Customs & Clearance (Australia)
Will my stuff be inspected?
They may be. Inspections are random or triggered by certain goods. You’ll be notified if this happens.
Do I need to be present for clearance?
No. We handle customs clearance on your behalf. We’ll only contact you if more information is needed.
Will I be charged taxes or duties
If your goods are considered personal effects and have been owned and used for over 12 months, they are generally exempt. However, final decisions rest with Australian customs.
Can you help me with paperwork?
Of course. We’ve got checklists and templates ready to go – just follow our lead.
Shipping & Arrival
How long does the whole move take?
Door-to-door, it usually takes 3-6 weeks. Timing depends on your pickup location, shipping schedules, and how quick customs clears it.
Can I track the move once it’s shipped?
Yes. We’ll keep you updated, and you can request extra info if you’re feeling curious.
How will I know when it arrives?
We’ll contact you after customs clears everything, then lock in a delivery date that suits you. Not ready? We’ll hold onto it in storage.
Do I need to do anything for delivery?
Nope – we’ll sort everything. Just let us know when and where.
Can you delay the final delivery if I’m not ready?
Absolutely. We’ve got secure storage options across Australia until you’re good to go.
Insurance & Support
Is my stuff covered during the move?
Insurance isn’t included automatically, but we strongly recommend getting transit insurance.
Can I add insurance after booking?
Yes – as long as it’s before collection day. Don’t leave it to the last minute.
What if something goes wrong?
We’re on it. If there’s a delay, damage, or hiccup, let us know right away so we can jump in.
